Company Profile: Lutron Electronics, Inc.
Company History
Information provided by Lutron
Joel and Ruth Spira founded Lutron Electronics Company, Inc. in 1961. Lutron’s first product was called a “dimmer switch” and represented the world’s first solid-state electronic device used to dim lights in a home, replacing bulky rheostats and autotransformers that were inefficient and unattractive. Although Lutron has grown substantially over the past several decades, the company still maintains the feel and personal closeness of a smaller firm, and to this day still operates under the guidance of the company’s 5 Principles:
Today, over 45 years later, Lutron is still devoted to controlling lighting. Our focus on product innovations, technology, quality, and customer service has made us the undisputed leader worldwide in the area of lighting controls. We offer more than 10,000 products to satisfy virtually any residential or commercial project. Lutron products adjust the intensity of virtually every kind of light, and we remain to this day the only company that provides an integrated solution for controlling both natural daylight as well as electrical lighting.
Our complete line of lighting control solutions for residences as well as for commercial projects located within North and South America is supported by our corporate headquarters in Coopersburg, PA (northwest of Philadelphia) as well as numerous sales and service offices located throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. Our global sales and service efforts are supported by our worldwide offices with European headquarters in London and other sales and service offices located throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Lutron’s position as the leading manufacturer of lighting controls worldwide, our unsurpassed quality, the breadth and depth of our product offerings, and our commitment to servicing our worldwide customers have resulted in an average growth of approximately 20% annually. This growth has in turn allowed the company to continue to invest in recruiting and retaining the best people we can find to help us service our customers. Continuous growth has also fueled our ability to constantly develop new technologies and new manufacturing processes that in turn drive the creation of new or better products and services.
Whether you are a homeowner seeking to enhance the appearance or atmosphere of a single room, or a facilities manager looking to enhance employee productivity and comfort while reducing energy-related costs throughout an entire corporate campus, Lutron can offer you the best value lighting control solutions that will meet or exceed your expectations while staying within your budget.

Hi everyone, I’m a lighting recruiter and I’m looking for a lighting controls sales specialist for Northern California. They must live in the bay area.
I wanted to reach out to the group to see if anyone could help in recommending someone to me.
Here is a job description and my contact info. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I am currently conducting a high-priority search for a electrical manufacturer who is looking for a very talented District Sales Manager for Northern California.
This is a brand new position managing a very large established territory focusing on the Bay Area.
This person should have a unique mix of sales experience calling on mostly specifiers, contractors and some electrical distributor channel, working with the rep agency and the companies sales force. Also need to have a technical background working with specifications and understanding the technical side of the job. Big Plus if have sensor, building automation, HVAC, relay systems, dimmers and lighting controls. Also knows Dali would be great.
They service the commercial, industrial market.
With your background, I am hoping that this may bring to mind someone whom you know in Northern California or have worked with in the past. It could be someone who is currently working but this could be a better career move and offer a 10-15% job stretch and growth opportunity.
This person needs to live in Northern California preferably the Bay area. Could go as far as Sacramento.
Great package!! Base + incentives, expenses, car etc.
If you can think of someone who would be well-suited for this position, please let me know or feel free to forward the information to them and have them contact me.
Please feel free to visit my website to get more details.
Thanks for your time, and I hope you would respond right away being an URGENT NEED.
